Throughout the house natural stone has been integrated
with snow-bent curved cedars for a unique sculptural effect. The
photo to the left shows stone work in the "grotto" area and the right is
the door to that area. Much of this area is unfinished and I will
make sure a new owner has the information and resources necessary to complete
this area, which was intended to be a fireplace, bread oven, and wood fired
hot tub. The battery bank, inverter, charger, and controls for the
solar electric system is also in this area. |

This is the covered patio just outside the Grotto and Utility room. It is on a concrete slab covered with hand quarried natural slate. The patio is covered and serves as a dry firewood storage area for winter and a cool sitting area on a hot summer day. The lower photo is tile mosaic floor on which the gas cook stove sits in the kitchen. |
There are many more stone and tile features in the house, which I will post as soon as I have time to take good photos.
